Blick

Kapsel

An explorative scientific circus aiming to ignite children’s curiosity and inspire the desire to re-discover, question, try new methods, and come up with ideas.

Where does an idea come from? Who invented everything and why? In Blick, the focus is on observation. Together with the audience, two jugglers embark on a journey to explore the birth of ideas. The journey contains exciting physical experiments, peculiar machines, and an array of juggling tricks.

Kapsel consists of Erik Åberg and Jay Gilligan. Erik is a postgraduate, teaching juggling and circus history, and Jay Gilligan is a lecturer in juggling, both active at Stockholm University of the Arts. Their focus is on artistic discoveries, with an emphasis on object manipulation and the object’s physical characteristics and purposes. They transform everyday household items and encourage us to have an open mind across all areas of life. Perhaps there are more options and alternatives than we might think? Maybe objects can be used for other purposes than the obvious and the indicated?
